Non-Equilibrium States of a Photon Cavity Pumped by an Atomic Beam

چکیده
We consider a beam of two-level randomly excited atoms that pass one-by-one through a one-mode cavity. We show that in the case of an ideal cavity, i.e. no leaking of photons from the cavity, the pumping by the beam leads to an unlimited increase in the photon number in the cavity. We derive an expression for the mean photon number for all times. Taking into account leaking of the cavity, we prove that the mean photon number in the cavity stabilizes in time. The limiting state of the cavity in this case exists and it is independent of the initial state. We calculate the characteristic functional of this non-quasi-free nonequilibrium state. We also calculate the total energy variation in both the ideal and the open cavities as well as the entropy production in the ideal cavity. Mathematics Subject Classification (2010). Coherent Transport of Single Photon in a Quantum Super-cavity with Mirrors Composed of Λ-Type Three-level Atomic Ensembles
In this paper, we study the coherent transport of single photon in a coupled resonator waveguide (CRW) where two threelevel Λ-type atomic ensembles are embedded in two separate cavities. We show that it is possible to control the photon transmission and reflection coefficients by using classical control fields. In particular, we find that the total photon transmission and reflection are achieva...

In the present study, temporal behavior of entanglement between photonic binomial distributions and a two-level atom in a leaky cavity, in equilibrium with the environment at a temperature T, is studied. In this regard, the master equation is solved in the secular approximation for the density matrix, when the initial photonic distribution is binomial, while the atomic states obey the Boltzmann...

In this paper, we propose a theoretical scheme for the generation of non-classical states of the cavity field in a system of a single trapped atom via controlling the Lamb-Dicke parameter. By exploiting the super-operator method, we obtain an analytical expression for the density operator of the system by which we examine the dynamical behaviors of the atomic population inversion, the phase-spa...

We present a quantum theory of a coherently pumped two-level atom in a photonic band gap ~PBG!, coupled to both a multimode waveguide channel and a high-quality microcavity embedded within a photonic crystal. One mode is engineered to exhibit a sharp cutoff within the PBG, leading to a large discontinuity in the local photon density of states near the atom, and the cavity field mode is resonant...
متن کاملPhoton-Induced Spin-Orbit Coupling in Ultracold Atoms inside Optical Cavity
We consider an atom inside a ring cavity, where a plane-wave cavity field together with an external coherent laser beam induces a two-photon Raman transition between two hyperfine ground states of the atom. This cavity-assisted Raman transition induces effective coupling between atom’s internal degrees of freedom and its center-of-mass motion. In the meantime, atomic dynamics exerts a back-acti...
